A few weeks ago, we were delighted to take part in the Berkeley Homes (North East London) Question of Sport Charity Dinner held in support of Home-Start London. Over 400 people from Berkeley Homes’ various suppliers attended the fantastic event at the Hilton Parkside, and much fun was had throughout the evening.
Justin Tibaldi, Divisional Managing Director of Berkeley Homes (Capital) plc, welcomed everyone to the event before Julia Roberts, Chair of Trustees Home-Start London, gave a short presentation on our work and our important partnership with Berkeley Homes (North East London).
Our hosts for the evening were sports presenters, Matt Lorenzo and Vicky Gomersall, who provided great entertainment as they compered. A range of sporting celebrities joined the tables, adding to the excitement in the room, including former professional footballers, Neil “Razor” Ruddock, Eddie Gray, and Pat Jennings.
After a golden ticket raffle we moved onto the eagerly anticipated quiz. Our special guest quiz masters were former professional footballers Ray Parlour and Alan Brazil. This dynamic duo took us through several rounds of questions (which we tried our best to answer!)
Following two quiz rounds, broadcaster, Jonny Gould took over to lead the evening’s live auction. Incredible prizes included VIP tickets to a Tottenham Hotspur match donated by Stanmore and a weekend at the Monaco Grand Prix donated by Berkeley Group.
Throughout the evening, Ben Moseley, Britain’s top live painter, created an original painting using acrylic paint and precious metals. The painting was included in the live auction and sold for £26,000, which was a truly amazing amount and goes towards explaining how much was raised in the end…
The event wrapped up with a third quiz round following which the final scores were calculated and the winning team was announced – big congratulations to the team from NC Williams!
We are absolutely delighted to announce that the donations have been totalled up and the evening raised nearly £155,000 for Home-Start London families! What an absolutely generous and heartwarming amount.
We would like to say thank you to Berkeley Homes and everyone that attended for their generosity. With this support we will be able to reach many more vulnerable families across London.
