Home-Start London Is Looking for New Trustees!

Home-Start London is looking for new Trustees to join our Board at an exciting time as we prepare to launch a new strategy in 2027.

Our mission is simple: to ensure that no parent or carer feels alone as they seek to give their children the best possible start. Last year, Home-Start volunteers and staff supported more than 7,000 families across London.

We’re looking for committed and dynamic people who can bring new perspectives, expertise and connections to our Board and help us strengthen and grow our impact across the capital. We also value the voice of lived experience and strongly encourage applications from people with direct experience of the challenges faced by families in London, or of receiving Home-Start support.

We’re particularly interested in people with experience in:

⭐️ Policy, strategy, funding or research across London
⭐️ Membership bodies, networks or alliance building
⭐️ Fundraising, communications or influencing
⭐️ Digital, data and impact

You’ll contribute to Board discussions and decision-making, support good governance and financial accountability, and help us identify opportunities to increase our reach and impact. Trustees also build relationships with partners and stakeholders and support Home-Start London’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

Time commitment
The role requires an average commitment of around one day a month, including four Board meetings and an AGM each year. Board meetings are generally held in Central London, with an option to attend online. The role is voluntary and unremunerated, although reasonable expenses can be claimed.
