Home-Start London Launches ‘Together for London Families’ Campaign

Home-Start London was proud to bring together partners, funders, volunteers and families this week for a special event celebrating the impact of our work across the capital and launching our new fundraising campaign, Together for London Families.

Hosted at Mercers’ Hall, the event welcomed a full room of supporters from across London’s voluntary and funding community, alongside colleagues from the wider Home-Start network. It was an opportunity not only to reflect on what has been achieved together, but to look ahead at how we can reach even more families in need.

The event opened with a screening of our short film Cradle, produced in partnership with Agile Films and Media Trust. Told through the eyes of a child, the film captures the powerful difference that Home-Start volunteers can make – showing how small, consistent acts of support can help families feel less isolated and more confident.

Guests also heard directly from parents, volunteers and staff from across the network, who shared honest and moving reflections on the impact of Home-Start support. These stories brought to life the reality behind the numbers; the relationships built, the resilience strengthened, and the lasting change felt by families with young children.

Across London, Home-Start supports a network of 15 local charities, working with families who have at least one child under five. Last year alone, 923 volunteers and 168 staff supported more than 7,000 families. In our most recent survey, 90% of parents said they felt more confident, and 91% reported improved health and wellbeing because of Home-Start support.

The event also marked the launch of our Together for London Families campaign – a call to action to help us grow this vital support across London. With rising costs and increasing pressures on families, demand for Home-Start services continues to grow.

We are coming together to raise £30,000, with funds shared across Home-Start charities throughout London to support families with young children when they need it most.
