Maria

Maria became pregnant and was left to bring up her baby alone. With little income and lack of support, she felt like a failure and suffered with perinatal mental health problems. Maria was referred to Home-Start by her midwife and matched to Susan, a specially trained Home-Start volunteer. Susan worked alongside Maria to provide emotional support through her new transition and helped Maria develop her confidence again.
