About Home-Start Merton
Home-Start Merton is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support, helping families with children pre-birth and up to 5 years. Our aim is to empower families and enable them to function independently, without the need for further intervention from statutory services. We are there for parents and children when they need us the most, helping them through challenging times – because we believe childhood can’t wait.

Our services focus on providing holistic family support and include home visits (our differentiator), structured weekly group sessions, counselling support and perinatal services, including home visits. Over the last year, we supported close to 65 families, 100 parents and 120 children, delivering close to 450 hrs of home visit and group sessions. We take satisfaction from the measured improvement in coping for the families between initial visits and final visits.

Home-Start Merton is one of the 180 local and independent charities operating under the Home-Start UK scheme. Through this association, we benefit from the best of a bigger nation-wide organisation as well as the local, embedded in -community set-up.

This role is central and critical in securing the mid to long term future of our organisation. Our trustees at Home-Start Merton are keen to prioritise fund raising amongst the several competing demands on our limited resources because we believe in the impact we have in our community and have ambitious plans for the growth of the organisation.
