Do you want to support your local community through volunteering as a trustee on an active board for a well-established Wandsworth charity? Home-Start Wandsworth is a fantastic registered charity that supports families with at least one child under the age of five. They provide practical and emotional support for families in their homes through their network of trained volunteers.
Their vision is of “a society where all children have the support they need from their parents for a positive, nurturing start in life and families have resilience and hope for the future”. Vulnerable families need Home-Start’s help more than ever at the moment and the Home-Start Wandsworth Board is key to ensuring that we are there for them in this borough.
They are particularly looking for someone who is active in the Wandsworth community and has skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Finance and Risk
- IT
- Diversity and Inclusion
This voluntary role will take around 10 – 15 hours each month including a Board meeting every 6-8 weeks. Responsibilities outside meetings and occasional office hours are for liaising with staff.
