Undeterred by last Tuesday’s wet weather, 10 enthusiastic rowers boarded the Home-Start London Dragon Boat to race 29 other teams at the West Reservoir Centre, Woodberry Down, Hackney.
Hosted by Berkeley Homes (North East London) Ltd, a day of Dragon Boat racing was attended by 300 employees and partners. Home-Start families, volunteers and staff also came along to cheer on their team.
A whopping £50,065 was raised by Berkeley Homes (North East London), all of which goes to supporting more families in the north east of the capital.
Helena Konneh, Director of Home-Start London commented, ‘Nothing could dampen our spirits – it might have been raining but the atmosphere was great – there was so much support for Home-Start and the services we provide to vulnerable families. The Dragon Boats were enormous fun to row, our team was made up of Berkeley employees, Home-Start trustees and home-visiting volunteers. We cannot thank our partners, Berkeley Homes (North East London) Ltd enough for putting on this enormously successful fundraiser.’
