Volunteer with Home-Start

There are lots of ways you can volunteer with Home-Start!

Home-visiting volunteer – Are you a mum, dad, grandparent or do you have caring experience? We need people with this experience to volunteer at local Home-Starts. Just 2-3 hours a week can make a big difference to the lives of parents and children. Home-Start volunteers support families in their own home and work alongside families to give compassionate and confidential support, tailored to the families’ needs. Our volunteers are trained and given expert support and guidance from local Home-Start teams.

Family Group volunteering – There are some really fun and exciting volunteer roles at local Home-Starts supporting families and children in group settings. It’s a fantastic opportunity for you to meet new friends, learn new skills, have fun and make a difference supporting families in your community.

Office support – Admin volunteers give a few hours each week to help behind the scenes at their local Home-Starts. The role and tasks will vary depending on the office at which you are based.

Becoming a trustee – This is a fantastic opportunity to support your local community whilst also developing your skillset in the workplace.
